Please join us in welcoming John Boyles to the Magnificat family. After an extensive search, the Board of Directors has named Houston native John Boyles as Executive Director of Magnificat Houses, Inc., responsible for executing our strategic vision as we enter into our 50th year of service to the homeless, the hungry, and the mentally ill.
Assisted by John Reece, Evans Neucere and Willie Madden, John will lead all operations, finance and development efforts. He brings vast business experience to MHI as previous Director of Business Development and Marketing for Artisan Field, Inc., a major corporate marketing and branding firm. John also co-founded the Catholic non-profit enterprise, Saint Basil Coffee, an organic fair trade coffee distributor supporting world Catholic missions.
Sparked by volunteering at our own Loaves & Fishes when he was just 13, John has dedicated most of his life to faith and service, including 18 years of diverse pastoral counseling and ministry leadership in parishes within the Archdiocese of Galveston Houston and has extensive experience directing international mission projects. John holds bachelor’s and master degrees from St. Thomas University.
Since 1968, Magnificat Houses has sheltered, clothed, fed and provided mental health support and spiritual guidance to men and women – of all mental abilities, social backgrounds, religions and cultures – as they rebuild their lives in community. We privately operate 16 residential homes, a Clubhouse for the mentally ill and a large downtown soup kitchen — not as an agency, but as a ministry motivated by the belief that all are created with dignity and worth. Magnificat Houses, Inc. is a faith-based, non-profit, charitable, 501(c)(3) organization, in adherence with the Federal Internal Revenue Code and chartered by the State of Texas in 1968. Our EIN is 23-7003471.
