Las Posadas Celebration
For nine nights leading up to Christmas, the Sisters of Magnificat Houses will bring the traditional Posadas to each of our Houston homes. The Posadas remember Mary and Joseph's search for shelter in Bethlehem, a story that continues today in the struggles of those experiencing homelessness in Houston.
Why We Celebrate
Just as the Holy Family sought a safe place to rest, thousands of our neighbors in Houston still search for shelter each night.
- 3,600+ people experience homelessness on any given night in Houston
- Magnificat Houses provides housing and services to over 300 men and women daily across 13 shelters, homes, and program centers in Houston.
- Through housing, meals, mental health programs and supportive services, we are a continuum of care for Houston's most vulnerable.
