Magnificat Houses, Inc. Opens New Guest Advancement Center to Support Houstonians Transitioning from Homelessness

Houston, TXMagnificat Houses, Inc. (MHI) is proud to announce the opening of its new Guest Advancement Center (GAC), a dedicated resource hub designed to empower individuals on their journey from homelessness to stability.

Located inside MHI’s Moran Housing and Admissions building, the Guest Advancement Center provides guests with the tools, training, and connections they need to build lasting independence and personal growth.

The Center offers:

  • Computer and Internet access for job searches, skill development, and essential tasks.
  • Workforce readiness training, including resume support, interview preparation, and digital literacy.
  • Connections to support services, such as housing resources, benefits enrollment, and mental health programs.
  • A welcoming community space that fosters belonging, encouragement, and hope for individuals transitioning out of homelessness.

“The Guest Advancement Center represents an important step in our mission to provide not just shelter, but pathways to long-term stability,” said Maureen Sanders, Executive Director of Magnificat Houses. “We believe every person deserves the chance to rebuild their life with dignity, purpose, and support.”

The GAC reflects Magnificat Houses’ ongoing commitment to holistic care, combining housing, meals, mental health services, and skill-building to help guests thrive beyond emergency support.

Since 1968, Magnificat Houses has served as Houston’s largest privately funded provider of housing and support services for the homeless. With the launch of the Guest Advancement Center, the organization continues to build bridges from crisis to community for those most in need.
