St Joseph Clubhouse Wellness Wednesday
The members and staff of the clubhouse were enthusiastic about organizing our opening “Wellness Wednesday,” an initiative designed to promote health and well-being within our community.
We made a concerted effort to promote the event through various announcements, generating interest and encouraging participation among our members. Many members actively contributed by designing eye-catching flyers to further enhance awareness of the initiative.
On the day of Wellness Wednesday, we experienced a highly successful turnout, with members exhibiting a positive and eager attitude. Notably, individuals who had previously expressed reluctance to participate in walking activities decided to join for the first time, reflecting on an encouraging atmosphere of support. Additionally, several members who are smokers participated, demonstrating a commitment to adopting healthier habits.
A particularly uplifting moment occurred when a member who utilizes oxygen expressed his desire to participate in the walk, despite concerns about his ability to manage the distance. To provide reassurance, a staff member walked alongside him, proceeding at a slow and steady pace. With encouragement and attention to each step, he was able to complete the walk, resulting in a sense of accomplishment and happiness.
Furthermore, we were privileged to have board member Chad Patel join us for the event. Chad has been an instrumental figure in the clubhouse, continually inspiring and motivating our members to strive for healthier lifestyles. His participation significantly contributed to the positive environment of the event.
In summary, our Wellness Wednesday was a remarkable success, fostering a strong sense of community and emphasizing the importance of prioritizing health. The members and staff of the St. Joseph Clubhouse are committed to sustaining this initiative and promoting wellness for all involved. We extend an invitation to all interested individuals to join our Wellness Walk.
We convene every Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. to collectively pursue healthier lifestyles.
